Many survivors of the Covid-19 infection have a serious risk of developing mental health problems. Psychiatrists gave this information on Monday. A large-scale study found that 20 percent of people infected with coronavirus develop mental health problems within 90 days. A report by the news agency Reuters has given this information.

The research article was published in The Lancet Psychiatry. Researchers have analyzed the electronic health data of 69 million people in the United States. There is also information of 72 thousand Covid-19 patients.

The study found that people who recovered from Covid-19 who were diagnosed with mental health problems had more common problems such as anxiety, depression and insomnia. The researchers said they had an increased risk of brain diseases such as dementia or amnesia.

Paul Harrison, a professor of psychology at the University of Oxford, said doctors and researchers from around the world needed to look into the matter on an urgent basis and find ways to treat post-covidal mental illness.

Paul Harrison, a professor of psychology at the University of Oxford, said doctors and researchers from around the world needed to look into the matter on an urgent basis and find ways to treat post-covidal mental illness.

At least one in five people tested positive for anxiety, depression or insomnia for the first time in three months after testing positive for Covid-19. Researchers have found that the rate of mental problems in the case of covid is doubled compared to patients in other groups.

No psychiatrist was directly involved in the study. However, they say, there is growing evidence that covid has an effect on the mind and brain. This is seen to create a risk of various types of mental problems.

Simon Wesley, a professor of psychiatry at King’s College London, said people with mental health problems were at risk for Covid-19, as seen in previous studies. Covid-19 mainly affects the central nervous system and can cause direct psychological problems. However, this study confirms that this is not complete information. The study also found that having a health risk earlier increases the risk of covid.
